A wedding of ice and fire
In the setting of the park of an imposing historic mansion in Soragna, in the province of Parma, a wedding was recreated to catapult guests inside the “Games of Thrones” series.
The guests, transported by the series’ chosen music, were guided inside an avenue of bamboo, thus taking them from the real world to the world of Westeros.
For the table settings, featuring the surnames from the famous Houses in the series, it was decided to repurpose the strictly medieval and fantastical ambience of the series: charcoal tablecloths, rustic candles and the famous dragon eggs in the foreground, emphasizing the marriage “not of a princess but of a Kahlessi.”
Dragon cake
Of great scenic effect was the cutting of the cake: a wedding cake that again originated from dragons, framing this moment with a fire in the foreground and a snowfall enveloping the Prince of House Stark and the Queen of House Targaryen.
